Xaxis builds platforms for the future of digital media trading. We are seeking a Data Scientist to join the team developing Copilot, our cutting-edge platform for applying machine learning algorithms to media buying optimization.

You will join other data scientists to work on prediction, optimization, pricing and other types other problems on massive data sets to make a billion dollars of media spend more effective on a global scale.

Solve complex problems by applying analytical techniques and predictive models to massive data sets.
Translate business needs into mathematical abstractions for algorithms to solve.
Leverage the most appropriate algorithms and be prepared to justify your decisions.
When necessary, skip the algorithms focus on asking the right questions.
Define key metrics and hold us accountable to scientific rigor in our decisions.
Research and prototype models and pipelines, and work with engineers to put them into production at scale.
BS in a quantitative field: Physics, Math, Computer Science, etc.
3+ years of experience applying predictive modeling, machine learning
Experience with ad tech or related industry is a plus
Proven ability to translate business needs into a rigorous, mathematical framework
Strong in statistics and theory underlying machine learning techniques
Excellent knowledge of Python or R; capable in SQL
Experience developing on distributed infrastructure (e.g.: AWS)
Experience developing on parallelized systems (Hadoop, Spark, etc.)
Strong written and visual communication skills
