About the Role
Part of the Hardware Technology Team, you will be interacting on a daily basis with optics, mechanical, electrical and software managers. As a member of a growing team, your responsibility will be to grow and structure the mechanical engineering team to fulfill the needs of the different programs happening within the Hardware Technology Team.
As a technical contributor, you have a proven deep understanding of the technology involved in the specification, design, integration, testing/qualification and manufacturing of cameras, lidars, radar, high power compute systems… for harsh environments.
As a technical lead and/or engineering manager, you have a proven record of managing a team composed of several individual contributors, delivering complex projects on time and within budget, coordinating interactions with other teams and vendors. Master of Science or Engineering in Mechanical Engineering or related field
10+ years of applicable experience in the field of mechanical engineering.
At least 5+ years in a leadership position as technical lead, ideally as a people manager.
Responsible for overall team dynamics and culture
People growth & career management
Team level objectives as well as individual
Design, operation, and maintenance of lab space Required competencies/experience
Proven experience building products for harsh environment required
Deep experience in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Catia...)
Extensive experience in opto-mechanical design/high precision systems
Experience setting up CAD revision control/Product Lifecycle Management systems
Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills: Experience presenting complex systems to mixed audience (expert and novice).
Experience building consensus across many different teams involving many different disciplines Preferred Competencies
10+ years of leadership experience as a technical as well as people manager
Solid experience designing fixtures, high precision calibration robots for mass volume production would be a clear plus
Experience in optics designs (Zemax, CodeV), optics lab equipment (interferometers, metrology, contamination level control) and optics manufacturing
Extensive experience in structural analysis (SolidWorks, Ansys, Abaqus, Nastran…), writing tests and qualifying the product
Extensive experience in thermal analysis (Thermal Desktop, SINFA, FLUENT, Ansys...), writing tests, and qualifying the product
Experience integrating equipment in an automotive platform would be a plus
Experience in plastic injection molding would be a plus
Experience managing vendors (writing contracts, negotiation…)
Experience in robotics/automation, sensing technology and Artificial Intelligence/machine learning would be a clear plus
Familiar with coding micro controller/Embedded C would be a plus
