Watson Health - Research Analyst I

Job Description
Under the guidance of Research Leader and Manager, provide analytic support to one or more business areas within Life Sciences: Outcomes Research, Economic Modeling, and Market Analytics.

This position can be located in multiple cities/offices: Cambridge, MA. - Ann Arbor, MI. - Bethesda, MD. - Greenwood Village, CO. - Raleigh, NC.

Outcomes Research, Market Analytics
Under the guidance of Research Leader, draft study protocol/analysis plan
Research and pull medical code sets (ICD-CM diagnosis and procedure, CPT, HCPCS, NDC, LOINC) per study protocol
Develop programming specifications. Work closely with Programmer on most effective way to implement complex methodologies and build study analytic file
Perform data investigation on diagnostic, descriptive, and statistical output throughout the course of each research project
Format data tables for client presentation
Draft written deliverables for client presentation (final reports, slide decks, technical memoranda, posters, podium presentations, and manuscripts)
Use Treatment Pathways to conduct analyses
Attend and take minutes from client meetings
Review and format inpatient (IP), outpatient (OP), and Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Facility Targeting Reports for Market Analytics projects
Economic Modeling
Under the guidance of Research Leader, identify, collect, and summarize data from published literature for building health economic models
Support Research Leader in developing model specifications and conceptual model design
Support economic modeling analyses, including cost-effectiveness/cost-utility analyses and budget impact analyses
Draft sections of deliverables for client presentation (summary memos, written reports, slide decks, abstracts , posters, podium presentations, and manuscripts)
Attend and take minutes from client meetings Other Responsibilities
Manage presale count requests
May support literature review projects
Participate in project process efficiency improvement initiatives
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with individuals at various levels within the organization and external clients
Good critical thinking, questioning, and listening skills
Excellent attention to detail
Time management skills for managing multiple tasks simultaneously while completing work within allocated time frames

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Minimum 2 years previous healthcare industry and/or quantitative work experience related to pharmaceutical industry or health research. Relevant graduate degree (e.g., MPH) may substitute for work experience

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

1-5 years experience using Microsoft Applications: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and EndNote.
