Reporting directly to the CFO the VP Controller is responsible for preparing reports on a regular basis, including monthly financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, as well as making business recommendations based on the understanding of the reporting data. This position supervises the close of the books by managing a team of staff accountants and financial analysts, as well as the general Accounting & Finance support staff (AP and AR). In our organization this person must have a solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and the ability to relate what will make the company hit its growth targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports by managing A & F staff
Prepare monthly journal entries, supervise the closing of the company books and prepare monthly financial statements
Prepare quarterly consolidated statements for global operations
Manage the Deal Desk
Oversee international activities from a compliance perspective
Develop and deliver supporting documentation and analysis for the external auditors. Manage yearly audit calendar.
Analyze financial information and variations between “budget to actual” and include comments in reporting package(s)
Establish, maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting and component audit/internal controls and procedures
Participate in the annual strategic planning and budget preparation process
Ensure that operating expenses, royalties, commissions, cost of revenue are timely and accurately recorded and reported.
Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with GAAP and be the primary liaison with outside accounting firm(s)
Ensure timely tax and accounting remittance to the various regulatory entities throughout the globe.
Ensure all general ledger accounts (including numerous cash accounts) are reconciled and tied to reporting details. Investigate discrepancies on a timely basis
Oversee cash flow analysis and reporting efforts in AR and AP functions
Train and supervise global location accounting and finance staff as delegated by CFO. Assist in strategic planning of acquisition, consolidation, and disposition events

QUALIFICATIONS:
CPA, Big four preferred
Driven an S-1 registration statement
Managed SOX 404
Extremely familiar with SEC reporting
Running a sell-side M&A due diligence a plus
Managed a VC backed audit committee a strong plus
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
Firm grasp of accounting systems (currently using Net Suite, SFDC combo). E-team will look to this position for help and insight on which financial reporting packages and accounting systems are needed for operating the company at maximum level
Requires proficient professional written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills
Ability to participate in and facilitate group leadership meetings
10+ years of relevant work experience in Accounting & Finance
Be current with regulation and compliance requirements relating to a software as a Service business
